Summary and Qualifications

The Lab Assistant's responsibilities pertain to supporting upstream process development activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

The Laboratory Assistant's duties are setting up of bioreactors, performing cell culture operations, routine sampling and testing using NOVA Biomedical Analyzer and Vi-Cell Cell Counter, and other related methods. The employee is also expected to assist with day to day upkeep of upstream process, general laboratory maintenance, cleaning glassware and lab equipment, disposition of hazardous waste, restocking of laboratory consumables, and other efforts to support cell culture and purification projects. The Lab Assistant will also analyze experimental data and prepare summary reports, and maintain a good laboratory notebook and follow cGMP documentation if necessary.

Education and Experience

An AA in life sciences and relevant laboratory experience is required for the position. An understanding of aseptic handling and sterile technique, laboratory etiquette, and GMP is also required.

Work Schedule and Hours

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week. Occasional work during early morning or evening hours, or on weekend days may be required.
